Kojic Acid Targeted Dark Spot Care

Apply a small amount directly to dark spots on clean, dry skin once daily in the evening. Follow with moisturizer and always use sunscreen during the day to protect skin, as kojic acid may increase sensitivity to sunlight.

Kojic acid is a naturally derived compound produced by certain species of fungi, primarily Aspergillus and Penicillium. It functions as a tyrosinase inhibitor, reducing the enzymatic production of melanin in the skin. By limiting melanin synthesis, kojic acid helps to lighten hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. Betaine (Trimethylglycine) is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative most commonly extracted from sugar beets. Sodium PCA (Sodium Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) is a naturally derived humectant and component of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF).
